Roy R. Shannon, Jr.

A native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Roy graduated from St. John’s College High School in 1995; earned a B.A. in Financial Management from the Catholic University of America in 1999; and a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 2003 with concentrations in Corporate and Securities Law and International Business Law.   

Roy joined Brincefield, Hartnett & Kahn in November 2005.  His practice involves civil and commercial litigation in state and federal courts, business transactions, and a broad range of real estate law, including commercial and residential leases, representation of agents, condominium transitions, structural and construction defect claims, and various condominium association issues.

Previously, Roy held the position of Clerk of the Court at the United States Coast Guard Court of Criminal Appeals where he reported to five appellate judges. Having also completed his legal internship at the Criminal Assets Bureau in Dublin, Ireland, Roy brings a solid understanding of appellate litigation to the firm.

Roy is a member of the Alexandria Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, Federal Bar Association.  He lives with his wife and three young children in Alexandria.
